Messages Layout

PromptCue's chat interface is designed to make your conversations clear and intuitive. Our Messages Layout organizes your chats by date and uses a visually appealing format to differentiate between your prompts and the AI's responses—all while keeping you informed of the interaction progress with real-time feedback.

Grouping Messages by Date​

To help you quickly navigate your conversation history, messages are grouped by date:

  • Date-Based Grouping:
    All messages are organized according to the day they were sent.
  • Relative Date Labels:
    For recent messages, instead of displaying the exact date, we use friendly labels such as "Today" and "Yesterday". This makes it easier for you to understand the timeline at a glance.

Distinct Layout for User Prompts and AI Responses​

Our layout is designed to clearly differentiate between your messages and the AI's responses:

  • User Prompts on the Right:
    Your prompts are aligned to the right side of the chat window, making them easily distinguishable.
  • AI Responses on the Left:
    AI responses appear on the left side and include a small model icon to indicate which AI model generated the response.
  • Visual Icons:
    Custom icons help you quickly recognize whether a message is from you or the AI, enhancing the overall readability and user experience.

Real-Time Processing Indicator and Typing Effect​

To keep you informed during interactions, PromptCue provides dynamic visual feedback:

  • Processing Indicator:
    When you send a prompt, a message such as "Assistant is processing the response..." is displayed. This lets you know that your query is being handled.
  • Typing Effect:
    Once the AI begins responding, the text appears gradually—a natural typing effect. This not only improves the realism of the interaction but also keeps you engaged as the response unfolds in real time.
