PromptCue empowers you to personalize and streamline your AI interactions with Prompt Variables. This feature lets you save custom variables with their corresponding values and use them dynamically in your prompts, making it easier to reuse common data and tailor your conversations to your specific needs.

What Are Prompt Variables?​

Prompt Variables are custom placeholders that you can define and save for later use in your prompts. Once set up, these variables allow you to quickly insert pre-defined values into your chat without having to type them out every time.

  • Customizable: Save variables with any value you choose.
  • Reusable: Use them repeatedly across different chats and interactions.
  • Dynamic Insertion: Trigger a dropdown to select variables by typing __$ in the chatbox.

How Prompt Variables Work?​

  1. Accessing the Feature:
    Prompt Variables are accessible directly from the Features Panel in the Chatbox. From there, you can add, view, and manage your variables.

  2. Saving Variables:

    • You can create and save up to 20 variables at a time.
    • These variables (and their values) are stored securely in your browser's localStorage. No data is stored on our servers, ensuring your privacy and security.

  3. Using Variables in Prompts:

    • When composing a prompt, type __$ (double underscore followed by a dollar sign).
    • A dropdown will appear above the chatbox displaying all your saved variables.
    • Click on a variable to have its value automatically inserted into your prompt.
    • These variables would be automatically replaced when you send the prompt to the model.

This seamless integration allows you to customize your prompts dynamically and save time on repetitive inputs.
