Prompt Library

The Prompt Library in PromptCue is your dedicated hub for managing and reusing effective prompts. Whether you're saving your own custom prompts or taking advantage of our tried-and-tested built-in prompts, the Prompt Library helps you streamline your workflow and supercharge your AI interactions.

How to Access the Prompt Library?​

Prompt Library is available in two convenient ways:

  1. Directly from the Chatbox Features Panel:
    Click the Bookmark icon in the features panel located at the bottom of your chatbox.

  2. Via the App Management Sidebar:
    Click on the Bookmark icon in the App Management sidebar to open the Prompt Library dashboard.

Saving and Managing Prompts​

Custom Prompts​

  • Create Your Own:
    When adding a custom prompt, you'll need to provide:
    • Title: A clear and descriptive name.
    • Description: A brief explanation of what the prompt does.
    • Prompt Text: The full prompt you want to save.
  • Use Them Anytime:
    Once saved, these prompts are stored in your browser's localStorage—ensuring your data remains private and secure. You can reuse your custom prompts in any chat session.

Built-In Prompts​

  • Tried and Tested:
    Our built-in prompts are sourced from multiple reputable sources and have been optimized for high-quality results.
  • Add to Your Library:
    You can easily add any built-in prompt to your personal library by clicking the Add to Library button.

The Prompt Library Dashboard​

The Prompt Library dashboard provides a comprehensive view of all your saved prompts and offers powerful management tools:

Search and Sort​

  • Search:
    Use the search bar to quickly locate prompts by title.
  • Sort Options:
    Organize your prompts based on:
    • Recent Created: The newest prompts first.
    • A-Z / Z-A: Alphabetically sort your prompts.
    • Created by You First: Display your custom prompts at the top.

Management Actions​

For each prompt in your library, you have the following options:

  • Copy Prompt:
    Quickly copy the prompt text to your clipboard.
  • Edit Prompt:
    Update the Title, Description, or Prompt Text.
  • Delete Prompt:
    Remove a prompt after confirming the deletion to avoid accidental loss.
  • Pin Prompt:
    Pin important prompts to keep them at the top of your list.
  • Use Prompt:
    Click the Use button to launch a new chat with the selected prompt automatically inserted into the chatbox.
NOTE

Additionally, you can quickly access saved prompts by typing / (forward slash) in the chatbox. A dropdown will appear, allowing you to select a prompt to automatically insert into your chat.

How It Works in the Chatbox?​

When you're composing a new prompt, the chatbox supports dynamic insertion of saved prompts:

  • Triggering the Dropdown:
    Type / in the chatbox to activate a dropdown menu that displays all available saved prompts.
  • Select a Prompt:
    Click on your desired prompt from the dropdown to automatically add its text to the chatbox.
  • Instant Integration:
    This feature lets you quickly recall and use prompts without leaving the chat interface.
