Project Folders

PromptCue's Project Folders empower you to keep your AI conversations organized by topics, projects, or any custom category. Whether you're managing multiple projects or simply want to declutter your Active Chats, Project Folders give you the flexibility and control you need.

Example Use Cases​

Here are some practical examples of how you can use Project Folders to streamline your workflow:

  • Project-Based Organization:
    Create a folder for each project (e.g., "Website Redesign," "Marketing Campaign," "New Product Launch") to group all related chats and resources together.

  • Topic-Specific Folders:
    Organize chats by subject matter, such as "Technical Support," "Research & Analysis," or "Creative Brainstorming." This makes it easy to revisit discussions on specific topics.

  • Client or Team Segmentation:
    If you work with multiple clients or teams, use folders to separate chats by client name or team designation, keeping sensitive data organized and accessible.

  • Temporary Folders for Active Work:
    Use folders to group chats related to an ongoing task or experiment. Once the project is completed, you can archive or consolidate the folder for future reference.

Moving Chats into Folders​

You can add chats to a folder in two intuitive ways:

  1. Drag and Drop:
    Simply drag a chat from your Active Chats list and drop it into the desired folder.

  2. Move via the Three-Dot Menu:
    Click the three-dot menu beside any chat and select Move to Folder. A modal will appear, prompting you to choose the folder where you’d like the chat to be moved.

Managing Chats Within Folders​

Once your chats are organized in folders, you can further manage them with these options:

  • Remove from Folder:
    For chats already in a folder, click the three-dot menu and select Remove from Folder to move the chat back to your Active Chats list.

  • Move into another Folder:
    Click the three-dot menu beside any chat and select Move to Folder. A modal will appear, prompting you to choose the folder where you’d like the chat to be moved.

Folder Management Options​

Every folder has its own set of controls, visible on the right-hand side of the folder:

  • Chat Count Display:
    Each folder shows the total number of chats it contains, giving you a quick overview of your organized conversations.

  • Add New Chat:
    Create a new chat directly within the folder by clicking the + icon.

  • Rename Folder:
    Update the folder name to better reflect its contents.

  • Delete Folder:
    When deleting a folder, the process depends on whether it contains chats:

    • Empty Folder: The folder is deleted immediately.
    • Folder with Chats: A confirmation modal appears with two options:
      • Delete Folder & Chats: Permanently delete the folder along with all chats inside it.
      • Delete Folder, Keep Chats: Delete the folder but move its chats back to your Active Chats list.
