Chat Operations

PromptCue gives you complete control over your conversations with advanced chat management tools—all accessible via the three-dot menu beside each chat. In this guide, you'll learn how to view chat details, archive or restore chats, pin important conversations, export your chat history, rename chats, and delete them safely.

ℹ️ Chat Info​

When you click the three-dot menu on a chat, select Chat Info to view important details about the conversation:

  • Chat Title: The designated title of the conversation.
  • AI Model Used: The specific AI model powering the chat (e.g., GPT-4o, Gemini, Claude).
  • Message Count: Total number of messages in the chat.
  • Chat Size: The amount of storage space the chat occupies.
  • Created On: The timestamp indicating when the chat was initiated.

These details help you quickly review your conversations and monitor usage.

📥 Archive Chats​

Keep your Active Chats list uncluttered by archiving older or less-used conversations:

  • Archiving:
    Use the Archive option in the three-dot menu to move a chat from the Active Chats view to the Archive section.
  • Archived Chats View:
    Access your archived chats by clicking the Archived Chats icon (located beside the Sort option). Here you can:
    • Restore: Bring archived chats back into your Active Chats view.
    • Delete: Permanently remove archived chats if they’re no longer needed.

This feature makes it easy to manage and review your chat history over time.

📌 Pin & Unpin Chats​

Ensure your most important conversations are always at the top:

  • Pin a Chat:
    Select Pin from the three-dot menu to pin a chat. Pinned chats will appear at the top of the Active Chats list.
  • Unpin a Chat:
    For any pinned chat, choose the Unpin option to remove it from the pinned section when it’s no longer a priority.

Pinning helps you maintain quick access to the conversations that matter most.

⬇️ Export Chats​

Back up your conversations or analyze them offline by exporting your chat history:

  • Export Functionality:
    Click Export from the three-dot menu to download your chat as a JSON file.
  • JSON Format:
    The export is provided in JSON format, making it easy to import into other systems or tools for further analysis.

This tool ensures that you always have a copy of your valuable interactions.

✏️ Rename Chats​

Personalize and better organize your chat history:

  • Rename Feature:
    Use the Rename option in the three-dot menu to change the chat title.

Renaming helps you label your conversations by project, topic, or priority for easier reference later.

🗑️ Delete Chats​

Remove chats that are no longer needed, with safeguards to prevent accidental deletion:

  • Delete with Confirmation:
    When you choose Delete from the three-dot menu, a confirmation modal will appear.
    • Confirm: The chat is permanently deleted.
    • Cancel: The delete operation is discarded.

This confirmation step ensures that your data isn’t accidentally lost.
